"Crime Never Pays" presents two crime stories based on true detective cases. The first tale follows the capture of Billie Cassidy, a woman who murders her partner Duke Snider during a botched holdup that nets only five dollars; when a talking parrot repeats the damning phrase "red head, green eyes, murder," Billie is identified and confesses, receiving a life sentence. The second story concerns Jim Miller, a deputy who conspires with cattle rustlers in the Texas countryside but is ultimately exposed and forced to flee town when Sheriff Frazier confronts him about his criminal dealings.
