Graham Nolan's cover for this August 1991 issue plunges you straight into a battlefield erupting with gunfire, explosions, and billowing smoke — two winged, hawk-masked figures soar overhead while a chaotic ground melee below pits armed soldiers against a grotesque assortment of alien-looking combatants. The title "Gods and Devils" promises the kind of high-stakes clash that feels entirely earned given that frenetic scene. John Ostrander and Nolan were clearly firing on all cylinders during this run, and issue #14 looks like a wild, sprawling piece of that story.
