The penultimate chapter of the "Godspawn" arc arrives in August 1994 with a cover that pulls no punches: Hawkman lies face-down and defeated across a vast mound of skulls, his wings — torn free and hanging suspended by heavy chains — looming above him like a grim trophy. A haunting blue figure watches from the shadows on the left panel, adding an eerie, spectral weight to the scene. Steve Lieber's pencils and Rick Magyar's inks deliver a strikingly bleak image that makes part four of five feel genuinely consequential.
