Hawkgirl #62
The cover of Hawkgirl #62 (May 2007) makes a bold visual statement: a towering, angular robot warrior styled after Hawkgirl herself — hawk-mask, great dark wings, and all — dominates the skyline while military jets swarm around it, cannons blazing. Howard Chaykin's cover art gives the whole scene a striking, almost retro-animated energy that's hard to ignore. Walter Simonson and Renato Arlem bring the interior story "Death Hawk," and if this cover is any indication, Shayera's world is about to get very complicated above the city.
