Hawkeye #6
The six-part "High, Hard Shaft" arc reaches its conclusion here, and Scott Kolins's cover delivers a genuinely striking image: Hawkeye tumbling upside-down through a sulfurous yellow sky, bow drawn and arrow already in flight, while a gun barrel looms large in the foreground and a wary, red-bearded man looks on from below — industrial derricks silhouetted in the hazy background completing the tense, wide-open scene. It's a composition that captures everything appealing about Clint Barton's style — outnumbered, mid-somersault, still shooting. Fabian Nicieza and Stefano Raffaele bring this 2004 series to a close with a chapter subtitled "Resurrection," which promises the kind of high-stakes finish the cover's kinetic energy fully earns.
