Hawk & Dove #5

Part of DC's New 52 initiative, this 2012 issue of Hawk & Dove puts Hawk front and center in a menacing crouch, red-and-black costume crackling with blue energy as he lunges forward with teeth bared — the cover tagline "Play Time's Over!" leaving little doubt about his mood. At his feet lies what appears to be a fallen, gloved hand, adding a sharp sense of stakes to the confrontation. Rob Liefeld's cover art brings raw intensity to the duo's series, written by Sterling Gates and Liefeld with interior art from Marat Mychaels and a full creative team bringing "Cages and Crossroads" to life.
