In "The Brains of the Outfit Part 1," Michael Collins, a Cybertek employee, stumbles upon the dark truth behind the Deathlok project and confronts its architect, Harlan Ryker. After being drugged and having his mind implanted into the Deathlok cyborg, Collins awakens during a mission in Estrella, where he begins to wrest control from the machine’s programming. As the cyborg is recalled to Cybertek, Michael seizes the chance to fully take command and make his escape.

In "Life's Blood (Part 2)," Dan and his sister Barb make a Halloween Eve pilgrimage to Houdini’s grave—only to stumble into a deadly clash between Deathwatch’s assassins and Kingpin’s enforcers. With Barb wounded and Dan hiding in the shadows, he stumbles upon a motorcycle with a pulsing gas cap, triggering a transformation into Ghost Rider. As the streets fill with desperate men hunting for a stolen briefcase, a local gang of kids unknowingly takes possession of it, hiding three mysterious canisters in separate mausoleums. Now, both Kingpin and Deathwatch are hunting for the briefcase at any cost—leaving Dan, now Ghost Rider, caught in the middle of a war he never asked for.
