Haunted #40

From Charlton's anthology horror line comes Haunted #40 (1979), hosted by Baron Weirwulf and featuring the story "She's Waiting" with interior work by the prolific Joe Gill and Steve Ditko. The cover by Jack Abel is genuinely unsettling — a lone, vulnerable figure stands facing an enormous, moss-covered swamp creature with glowing red eyes looming out of the mist, dripping with slime and radiating dread. It's a vivid snapshot of late-'70s Charlton horror at its atmospheric best, teasing a tale of a man named Ezekiel and a hideous creature rising from ancient slime.
