Harley Quinn: Futures End #1
Part of DC's sweeping 2014 The New 52: Futures End event, this one-shot plants Harley Quinn and the Joker on a sun-drenched tropical beach for a scene that is equal parts romantic and deeply unsettling — he's casually leveling a pistol while she winds up with a fishing rod, a skull resting in the sand nearby as palm trees sway overhead. Amanda Conner both wrote and drew that wonderfully twisted cover image, perfectly capturing the chaotic chemistry between these two. Writers Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti, along with artist Chad Hardin, colorist Alex Sinclair, and letterer John J. Hill round out a creative team clearly having a blast with the story promised by the title "Crappily Ever After.
