Harley Quinn #32
The tagline "A Night to Dismember!" sets a wonderfully ominous tone for this July 2003 issue, whose cover — pencilled by Mike Huddleston and inked by Troy Nixey — stages a tense romantic embrace between a short-haired woman in a red dress and a suited man against the backdrop of an ornate pagoda, confetti and shattering glass filling the air around them. Looming in the shadows to the right is a stern, green-tinged villainous face, while a colorful lion-dance mask peers in from the left — hints of danger lurking just beneath the festive Lunar New Year atmosphere. With A.J. Lieberman writing and Steve Yeowell on art, "The Year of the Rat" promises intrigue and mischief dressed up in holiday finery.
