Harley Quinn #12
Part of DC Universe Rebirth's "Joker Loves Harley" arc, this 2017 issue drops us right into a tense beachside standoff: the Joker and a masked figure face off at ground level, each gripping a shovel between them, while Harley Quinn — popcorn and drink in hand, utterly unbothered — watches from the boardwalk behind them. Amanda Conner's cover art frames the whole scene against a Coney Island-style amusement strip at dusk, complete with a stray dog sniffing around and a Batman cap perched on the Joker's head for good measure. With Palmiotti, Conner, Timms, and Hi-Fi bringing the interiors to life, this issue looks like exactly the kind of chaotic, darkly comedic Harley adventure fans of the Rebirth era were turning up for.
