Hangman Comics #4

From the Fall 1942 MLJ lineup comes this wartime chapter of Hangman Comics, with cover art by Harry Lucey capturing a furious brawl between costumed heroes and Nazi-armband-wearing enemies in a stone-walled chamber. The Hangman himself anchors the melee in the foreground while additional caped figures clash with swastika-bearing foes above and around him, the whole scene radiating the kind of urgent, patriotic energy that defined superhero comics at the height of World War II.
