Örnöga besegrar Lemond och återtar platsen som Svarta Kråkornas hövding. Lemond tas om hand av sheriffen. Uncas och Elden återvänder till sin dal, men Uncas får ett brev från vännen Jim Parker. Uncas får inte med sig Elden, då denne vill vara kvar i dalen, så Uncas och Pilen rider iväg mot Grand Canyon, där Parker bor. Pilen ångrar sig och följer efter, men blir fångad av Blax Norton.
