Wells' The Invisible Man to vivid graphic life, with a cover by Christophe Regnault that perfectly captures the eerie menace of its bandage-wrapped, goggle-eyed protagonist — pistol in hand, rendered in stark black and white against a blazing amber background of a surging, panicked crowd.
