The cover by Jack Kirby and Dick Ayers sets the stage perfectly: Kid Colt, in his red shirt and cowboy hat, stands his ground inside what looks like a saloon, surrounded on all sides by Sam Hawk's armed gang — guns raised and escape routes cut off — while a menacing figure looms in the foreground, rifle in hand. Kid Colt's speech bubble says it all: he's walked straight into a trap, but he's not going down without a fight. This 1960 Marvel issue promises a feature-length Kid Colt thriller written by Stan Lee with art by Jack Keller and inks by Dick Ayers — solid Western action at a dime a copy.
