Kid Colt, Outlaw rides boldly down a dusty frontier street on his gray horse, flanked by a crowd of armed gunslingers, while two dark-clad figures loom in the foreground with pistols drawn — a tense standoff that perfectly sets the stage for "Gunfight at Gila Pass!" Jack Kirby's pencils and Dick Ayers' inks give the scene a charged, wide-open energy that captures the best of 1960 Marvel Western storytelling. With Stan Lee writing and a full creative team including Jack Keller, Dick Ayers, Stan Goldberg, and Artie Simek, this issue is a fine showcase for the range of talent Marvel was bringing to its frontier titles.
