Gumby #3
In this delightfully surreal 2007 outing from Wildcard Ink, Gumby finds himself caught in a bizarre twist when his parents mistake a sack of potatoes for their son—only to be cured by the oddly helpful Mr. Oppenheimer. With Pokey in tow, Gumby stumbles into a suspicious sales pitch that quickly reveals its sinister undercurrent, all drawn in Rick Geary’s distinctive, offbeat style and colored with Steve Oliff’s vibrant, slightly skewed palette. The cover, also by Geary, captures the series’ off-kilter charm with its exaggerated expressions and playful composition.
