Green Lanterns #4
"Lost in Space Part 1" dives into the ancient origins of Volthoom, the First Lantern, through a haunting flashback that reveals how Rami first guided him in wielding the Travel Lantern—only for the power to unravel Volthoom’s mind. Written by Sam Humphries and illustrated by Ronan Cliquet, with colors by Ulises Arreola and letters by Dave Sharpe, this issue traces the creation of the first seven Green Lantern rings from fragments of the Travel Lantern, including the moment one chooses Calleen of Alstair as a chosen guardian. The cover, by Brad Walker and Brandon Peterson with inks by Drew Hennessy and Brandon Peterson, captures the cosmic scale of this long-buried history.

A story told in flashback revealing more details of the origins of Volthoom, the First Lantern. This story shows how billions of years ago, Rami helped Volthoom to learn how to use the first power ring, until the power of the ring drove Volthoom mad and Rami created the first 7 Green Lantern rings from pieces of the Travel Lantern and sent them to find worthy beings that could stand against Volthoom.
