Astronauts in an orbiting space station experience a strange entity. On Earth, John Stewart, who has resigned from the Green Lantern Corps after the United Planets seized control and ruled Earth off-limits, encounters an alien Lantern who believes John is in violation of the Corps' new rules. Meanwhile Lantern Shepherd arrives in the prime universe where he encounters the Radiant Dead.
