Green Lantern #9

Part three of "The Secret of the Indigo Tribe" arrives in this 2012 New 52 installment, and Doug Mahnke's cover (inked by Mark Irwin) sets a genuinely unsettling tone — a massive, single cyclopean eye dominates the composition as two Green Lanterns are shown struggling in its grip, battered and barely holding on. The tagline "Drowning in the Madness of Black Hand!" promises that the Indigo Tribe's dark secrets run deeper than anyone bargained for. Geoff Johns and Mahnke were delivering some of their most intense Green Lantern work this year, and this issue looks like a compelling chapter in that run.
