Green Lantern #8
This volume collects issues #43–47 of the 2016 Green Lantern series, continuing the aftermath of the 'Blackstars' storyline. As Hal Jordan grapples with the consequences of his actions and the shifting power dynamics among the Lantern Corps, a mysterious new threat forces him to confront his own reflections—both literal and metaphorical. The story delves into Hal's psyche and his place in the universe as the Green Lantern mythos evolves under writer Grant Morrison and artist Liam Sharp.
In "The Comforts of Home," the universe has fallen under the iron grip of the Sinestro Corps, their stronghold Warworld now ruling from the ashes of Oa. With Sinestro himself weakened by power, and Hal Jordan twisted by the corrupting energy of Krona’s gauntlet, he begins forging a new path—crafting a new power ring in a desperate bid to reclaim his humanity and hunt down the missing Green Lanterns. Written by Robert Venditti and illustrated with striking detail by Ethan Van Sciver, this pivotal issue captures the emotional weight of a fallen hero rebuilding from the inside out. The cover, by Howard Porter, reflects the stark, shifting tides of this new cosmic order.
