Green Lantern #58
Part of DC's 2010 Brightest Day crossover, Green Lantern #58 centers on "Hope Burns Bright" — and Doug Mahnke and Christian Alamy's cover makes the theme immediately vivid. A luminous woman in white ascends at the cover's center, radiating brilliant blue-white light as the entity Adara swirls around her in cascading, wing-like energy, while a group of kneeling figures — including a Green Lantern — bow before a glowing blue orb below. Geoff Johns was firing on all cylinders during this era, and this image of overwhelming, ethereal hope is a striking reminder of just how visually ambitious the title was at its peak.
