Green Lantern #47
Part of DC's sweeping 2009 "Blackest Night" crossover, this issue of Green Lantern drops Hal Jordan into an intense three-way clash against the undead Abin Sur — reanimated as a Black Lantern — while Sinestro looms menacingly in the background, fists raised and ready to strike. Doug Mahnke and Christian Alamy's cover crackles with energy, pitting Hal's green power ring against the corrupted, ghoulish form of his predecessor amid a fiery orange backdrop. Geoff Johns's "To Hell and Back" promises exactly the kind of emotionally charged, mythology-rich confrontation that made this era of Green Lantern essential reading.
