Green Hornet / Miss Fury #4
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeGreen Hornet / Miss Fury #4 is the penultimate chapter of the first-ever in-continuity crossover series to unite Britt Reid (The Green Hornet) and Marla Drake (Miss Fury) — two pulp heroes whose combined publishing histories stretch back to the 1930s and 1940s. The pairing carries real historical weight because Miss Fury holds the distinction of being the first female superhero created and written by a woman, June Tarpé Mills, a milestone that predates Wonder Woman's debut by more than six months. By placing these two characters in the same noir-inflected, 1960s-set world and pushing their partnership to its breaking point in issue #4 — with Green Hornet and Kato's partnership fracturing into open conflict while Miss Fury goes missing — the series meaningfully expands the shared mythology of Dynamite's pulp universe. The issue also continues the series' broader storytelling project of recovering and spotlighting Miss Fury as a figure central to the history of the superhero genre, not merely a footnote.

Dynamite Entertainment announced the series in August 2024, with writers Alex Segura and Henry Barajas and artist Federico Sorressa attached from the outset. Segura, known for noir-inflected prose novels such as Secret Identity and comic work on Dick Tracy, brought an explicit pulp-and-noir sensibility to the project; he and Barajas had apparently been developing Green Hornet concepts together for some time before Dynamite approached them with this crossover concept. The creative team deliberately set the story in the mid-1960s — drawing on the atmosphere of the Green Hornet's iconic television era while layering in a detective-noir aesthetic — rather than crafting a reimagining or origin story. Issue #4, released April 9, 2025, was solicited in the February 2025 Previews catalog and features cover art by Francesco Francavilla (Cover A), Jae Lee & June Chung (Cover B), Jonathan Case (Cover C), and Jacob Edgar (Cover D).
