The issue also contains an article about artist Albert Dorne and his Famous Artists School, which offers training and a talent test for aspiring artists. Additional stories featured include adventures with characters such as Luckyman, Detective Dareall, Witch of Salem, Hopeless Henry, The Wise Guy, Jones and His Mrs., and Trixie.
Dr. Tom Tom investigates a mysterious test tube sent to a jungle temple and discovers it contains impossibly tiny people—victims of a sinister scheme. When he and his assistant Jose infiltrate the temple under false pretenses, they uncover Dr. Cruelo's diabolical operation to enslave indigenous people by shrinking them and shipping them via the mail to labor plantations deep in the jungle. Now the resourceful doctor must navigate a hidden underground chamber, outwit armed adversaries, and stop the racket before more innocent lives are lost.
Detective Dareall receives a chilling phone call from his friend Don—now a captive of Mirror Eyes, the notorious blackmailer and murderer he's been hunting for two years. Lured to a sinister hideout, Dareall must confront Mirror Eyes' diabolical death-ray machine and uncover the truth behind those reflective eyes before his friend meets a horrible fate. A tale of deception, melodrama, and the kind of clever trap that demands all the detective's wits to escape.
In "Vanishing Boy," Captain Truth—still grappling with his eviction from his apartment—spends the night with Joey Warner, a young man whose father, Arthur Warner (known as Slug Warner), is entangled in a criminal underworld. When Captain Truth discovers that Slug is involved in a scheme to steal tungsten from light bulbs, he resolves to confront him, not just as a hero, but as a man trying to make amends—for Joey’s sake.
