Gorilla Man #2
The second chapter of "The Serpent and the Hawk" arrives with one of Marvel's most entertainingly absurd action images: Gorilla-Man himself blazing out of the sky over the Congo, dual pistols blazing and spent casings flying, while a propeller plane banks through the smoky golden atmosphere behind him. The tagline "Crackin' Craniums in the Congo!" sets the tone perfectly for this 2010 limited series, which leans fully into pulpy adventure with complete commitment. Cover work by Leonard Kirk gives the whole scene a kinetic, larger-than-life energy that's hard to resist.
