Goldfish #[nn]
This is a Polish collected edition of the Goldfish series, published by Semic S.A. in 2003. It compiles the crime noir story by writer/artist Jeff Lemire, following a down-and-out man entangled in a violent underworld after his girlfriend's disappearance.
A stark noir tale in monochrome, Goldfish #nn (2003) follows David Gold, the man known as Goldfish, as he returns to a city ruled by his former lover and crime boss, Lauren Bacall. Now the head of the underground Club Cendrillon—a nightclub doubling as a brothel and casino—he must reclaim his son from the woman who once shared his life. Written by Brian Michael Bendis and Alexis Nikolavitch Racunica, with art, inks, and lettering by Bendis, the story unfolds in shadowed tension, grounded in the seedy glamour of the Club Cendrillon. The cover, also by Bendis, captures the issue’s brooding atmosphere.
In the stark, shadow-drenched world of *Goldfish* #nn, David Gold—known only as Goldfish—returns to a city he once fled, now ruled by the ruthless Lauren Bacall, his former lover and the crime boss who controls the underground empire centered at the Club Cendrillon. Once a con artist, he now walks back into the neon-lit heart of his past, where every dance floor step could be his last and every secret might cost him everything.
