Godzilla #7

The scale of the threat is made viscerally clear on E. J. Su's cover for this 2012 IDW series: Godzilla's massive, tooth-lined jaws loom just inches from a lone, muscular figure kneeling on a pile of rubble with a rocket launcher hoisted over his shoulder. The composition brilliantly emphasizes the sheer size difference between the King of the Monsters and the one human brave — or desperate — enough to face him at point-blank range. Writer Duane Swierczynski and artist Simon Gane bring plenty of tension to this series, and this seventh issue promises more of that gripping, ground-level monster action.
