Godzilla #8

The cover alone tells a gripping story: a heavily-armed, barrel-chested mercenary drags a young woman across rubble while Godzilla's enormous roaring head looms directly behind them, jaws open wide and claws reaching through the destruction. The tension between the human conflict in the foreground and the colossal monster bearing down from above gives this IDW issue a wonderfully layered sense of dread — nobody here is having a good day. With Swierczynski, Gane, and Pattison credited, this is a visually charged entry in IDW's Godzilla run that promises humans and monsters making each other's lives considerably worse.
