When P. S. Peculiar vanishes, the entire town of Peculiar Place scrambles to find him—especially since his disappearance threatens to return the land to the Indians. The search leads through the cranberry bogs, where the truth is unearthed: P. S. orchestrated his own vanishing to steal a free harvest, only to be buried under a tidal wave of berries and swept into the absurd depths of Ridiculous Canyon.
