John Blaze has a dream that Dan Ketch is still alive trapped inside Zarathos. John goes back to Cypress Hills Cemetery where the Zarathos statue is. While he is there Varnae, the Lord of Vampires attacks Jay and Callie, two young lovers. He then attacks John Blaze. They battle and John eventually drives him away. Caretaker shows up after the battle to say that Seer transported Callie to safety and to tell John that he must continue to endure.
