“Adrift”

In "Adrift," the remnants of Generation X drift helplessly on a strange, living platform in the open ocean, cut off from land and rescue. With the weight of recent losses and the mystery of their sudden displacement pressing in, Sean grapples with grief and disbelief when he learns Emma may still be alive—only to face new dangers as Jubilee struggles to break free from Bastion’s grip. Written by Scott Lobdell and illustrated by Joe Bennett, with colors by Marie Javins and inks by Joe Pimentel, this tense, atmospheric issue captures the team’s fragile hope amid isolation. The cover, by Chris Bachalo, reflects the haunting stillness of their stranded state.

Most of the Gen X kids are floating on a small bio-organic platform in the middle of the ocean with no land or rescue in sight. They try to endure the ravages of the sea and the sun without totally freaking out. Sean mourns the death of Emma (Black Tom forced him to kill her last issue) but is ecstatic to learn that she merely faked her demise. They try to figure out where the kids have gone. Jubilee tries to escape from Bastion and Operation Zero Tolerance but fails.
