☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeIn "For the Sake of the Children," the Gen X team is mid-flight from St. Louis when Emma Frost’s telepathic distress from the chaos in New York forces a sudden, dramatic turn: she sends Banshee plummeting from 30,000 feet before guiding the rest of the group to a hidden sanctuary in Canada. Written by Scott Lobdell and illustrated with striking intensity by Chris Bachalo—inked by Mark Buckingham and colored by Steve Buccellato and Malibu—the issue captures the kids’ shock and fear as Emma’s urgent, unexplained decision overrides their protests, leaving them both shaken and uncertain. The cover, by Bachalo and Buckingham, perfectly frames the moment’s gravity.

Most of the Generation X are on a plane flying home from St. Louis when the super heroic battle with Onslaught going on in New York begins to effect Emma mentally. She telepathically causes Banshee to jump out of the plane at 30,000 feet and wings the kids up to a home she has in Canada where they will be safe from the current mutant madness. Unaware of the big picture and worried about Banshee, the kids strongly protest their change in itinerary but Emma counters their attack and makes them mentally accept what is going on.
