Geiger (2024) #8 is part of the second ongoing volume of the series launched by writer Geoff Johns and cover artist Gary Frank on April 3, 2024, as one of the flagship titles of Ghost Machine — a creator-owned media company the two co-founded with other industry veterans in October 2023 and announced at New York Comic Con. Ghost Machine publishes its books through Image Comics, with creators co-owning all characters and universes developed for the imprint. For issues #7 through #9 — the arc that includes issue #8 — interior penciling duties shifted from Gary Frank to Paul Pelletier, a longtime Johns collaborator, with Andrew Hennessy on inks and Brad Anderson on colors; Frank remained the primary cover artist. This arc, bridging the end of the series' first year, was later collected in both the Geiger, Vol. 3 trade paperback and the Geiger Volume 2 Deluxe Hardcover alongside Geiger: Ground Zero #1–2.
