Geiger is the first creator-owned series from writer Geoff Johns and artist Gary Frank, originally launched through Image Comics in April 2021, and later became the flagship title of Ghost Machine — a co-operative media company the pair co-founded at New York Comic Con in October 2023 alongside Bryan Hitch, Jason Fabok, Francis Manapul, Peter J. Tomasi, Brad Meltzer, and others. Ghost Machine operates under an unprecedented industry structure in which all founding creators jointly own and run the company, sharing equally in publishing, media, merchandising, and licensing proceeds. The second ongoing volume — in which issue #14 appears — launched in April 2024 as part of Ghost Machine's initial publishing slate, with Johns and Frank having deliberately seeded the existence of the Glowing Woman character from its very first issues. A television adaptation of the property was announced in October 2022 at Paramount Television Studios, with Johns developing and writing the pilot alongside director Justin Simien.
