Gambit #8

James Asmus's 2013 solo series keeps Remy LeBeau in fine thieving form, and this eighth issue — "Forever Endeavor" — presents a cover by Clay Mann that crackles with kinetic energy. Gambit lunges toward the viewer, hands outstretched and charged with his signature pink kinetic energy, while a looming armored figure silhouetted against a blazing sky dominates the background alongside what appears to be a commercial airliner. Below, a group of bystanders scatter in alarm, hinting at stakes that extend well beyond a simple heist. Rachelle Rosenberg's warm amber and violet palette ties the whole composition together beautifully.
