The Colossus team and the Joe team fight and down the plane; Monk survives, and Raston is taken into U.S. custody. Monk tries to quit, but as a 7 is too highly valued to. He is given a list of people to assassinate, and the last one of the list is Horvath. When he comes to him, Horvath finally explains his grand plan: Monk, who is only a one, is the only one who will be able to destroy Krake, or else he will remake the world in blood. Horvath then kills himself.
