In the shadow of a covert operation in Sierra Gordo, the G.I. Joe team’s escape takes a sudden turn when Shooter—disguised and unseen—pulls them from danger, setting off a chain of revelations. Written by Larry Hama and illustrated by Pat Quinn with inks by Valentine De Landro, colors by Rob Ruffolo, and letters by Brian J. Crowley, this issue unfolds with quiet intensity, its cover by Francis Manapul capturing the moment’s weight.

In Sierra Gordo, the Joes are covertly rescued by Shooter, though neither side realizes it, and they escape separately -- the team by Blackhawk, Shooter in disguise. Stalker’s brutal rescue of a terrorist, which led to Hawk’s court-martial, is revealed as the catalyst for his recruitment. Flagg warns a rogue general to stand down, while Cobra Commander orders Major Bludd to target Flagg. As the Joes free Dr. Burkhart, Shooter sacrifices herself to stop a Cobra ambush, and the team mourns a hero they never truly knew.
