· Editions Héritage · 1.25 CAD

In G.I. Joe #41, a newly formed island—born from the Joes’ last mission—becomes a geopolitical flashpoint when Cobra moves in under the guise of legal representatives. With the Commander’s orders creating a loophole, the Joes watch helplessly as the island is claimed by Cobra, turning it into a sovereign nation. Written by Larry Hama and illustrated by Rod Whigham, with inks by Keith Williams and colors by George Roussos, the issue’s cover by Mike Zeck and John Beatty captures the tension of a world where law and battle blur.

As a result of the Joes' actions last issue, an island has been raised outside of the three-mile territorial limit of the U.S. The Joes have been ordered to kick off Cobra before they can claim sovereignty over it, but fail due to the C.G.'s (disguised as lawyers) actions under the Commander's orders while the battle is happening, which makes the island now part of Cobra, and in turn makes them a sovereign nation.
