"Chapter 1" of G.I. Joe (2010, IDW) kicks off with high stakes as Scarlett faces a court-martial and potential execution, her only defense being her claim that Cobra remains a real threat. Written by Chuck Dixon and illustrated by S. L. Gallant, the issue unfolds with tense interrogations, covert communications, and urgent missions—Snake Eyes heads to Seattle to regroup with Mainframe, while Cover Girl and Shipwreck team up in a rescue that turns perilous. The cover by Dave Williams captures the intensity of the moment, and the story’s sharp pacing sets the tone for a mission where loyalty and truth are under fire.
