G.I. Joe #12
In "Present Day," G.I. Joe #12 (2014), writer Paul Allor and artist Atilio Rojo craft a poignant wartime story centered on Thom Laurel, a prisoner of war who forms an unexpected bond with a fellow captive. As Thom documents his ordeal and plans an escape, he entrusts his final message to a man who initially refuses to carry it—only to honor it in a way that echoes far beyond the camp. The cover by Steve Kurth and Allen Martinez captures the weight of that promise, setting the stage for a story of sacrifice and consequence.
