Fury Max #7
The penultimate stretch of Garth Ennis and Goran Parlov's mature-readers war saga arrives with issue #7, and Dave Johnson's cover sets an arresting tone: a silhouetted figure bearing a rifle over his shoulder — skull emblem blazing white on his chest — stands framed by dense jungle foliage, while two weathered faces loom in the shadows on either side. It's a composition that feels both tense and elegiac, perfectly suited to a 2013 Marvel MAX series rooted in the long shadow wars leave behind. Lee Loughridge's muted olive-and-tan palette ties it all together, giving the whole image the worn look of a war photograph you can't quite stop studying.
