“The Super Snooper”

In "The Super Snooper," Funnyman takes the wheel as Beamer’s gang—now a bit more out of shape and less intimidating—finds their getaway car mysteriously driven by their nemesis. With a wild ride through the city and a sudden plunge into an old building’s elevator shaft, the mob’s latest scheme unravels in the most unexpected way. Written by Jerry Siegel and illustrated by Joe Shuster, this 1948 adventure showcases the duo’s early flair for zany action and clever twists, with cover art by Joe Shuster.

In the intervening years, Beamer's mob has changed, as the boys have grown weaker and the lady has put on a few pounds. They jump into a beat-up convertible only to discover that Funnyman is their chauffeur, and the Screwball Scrapper takes them on a wild ride into an elevator entrance of an old building. After many unsuccessful attempts to dispose of their driver, the gang is apprehended with a crate of the Mafoosky jewels in their possession, and a jealous Sgt. Harrigan kicks Funnyman in his steel-plated rear.
