“Blabberson Crusoe”

DC's Funny Stuff #62 (Sept./Oct. 1951) delivers 52 big pages of cartoon comedy starring the Dodo and the Frog. Otto Feuer's cover says it all: while a building gets torn apart by ferocious winds, the Dodo calmly insists the barometer must be broken — even as the Frog goes tumbling past, hat flying, in the middle of a very real hurricane. It's a perfectly timed visual gag that sets a cheerful, slapstick tone for everything packed inside this ten-cent gem.
