“Thunderjet!”

In "Thunderjet!", Corporal Tubridy reflects on a past mission gone awry while watching new recruits march—recalling the time he was captured by the Maharajah's men, thieves in disguise, after stealing five of their prized peacocks. Left behind without his rifle, he made a vow to reclaim it, a promise that now echoes in the quiet of the parade grounds. Written and illustrated by Harvey Kurtzman, with inks and colors by Kurtzman and Marie Severin, this 1952 EC Comics gem features a cover by Kurtzman, capturing the tension and humor of a soldier’s unlikely adventure.

After Germany double-crosses Caesar, the Roman Army conquers that land, killing all the men, women and children in retaliation, then follows the same pattern against a town in France, which surrendered. By 44 B.C., Caesar was all powerful --- too powerful to the liking of the Roman Senate, and so they decide to kill Caesar.
