Freshmen #6
The sixth issue of Top Cow/Image's Seth Green co-created series arrives at its finale arc with a cover by Rodolfo Migliari that crackles with lightning as a sprawling clash between the young Freshmen heroes and a group of hulking, monstrous antagonists fills every corner of the composition. A figure in a hat and white shirt charges at the center while costumed teammates — including a woman in red, a tech-suited blond, and several others — surge forward against their brutish opponents, the whole scene buzzing with kinetic energy. With the tagline "Super powered teens, angst, action, and comedy" drawing a wry Joss Whedon quip right onto the cover, this is a satisfying-looking cap to the series' first run, featuring the work of writer Hugh Sterbakov and artist Leonard Kirk inside.
