Freshmen #4
This 2006 Top Cow/Image series — co-created by Seth Green — takes a tense turn in issue #4, whose cover by Rodolfo Migliari presents a striking overhead view of what appears to be a medical crisis: two young people lie unconscious on a white surface, hooked to monitoring equipment, while a green-skinned figure looms over them and a tiny costumed character (complete with a lightning-bolt emblem) looks on from below. The unsettling downward perspective and clinical setting give the scene an air of real urgency, hinting that college life with superpowers can go sideways fast. With Hugh Sterbakov writing and Leonard Kirk illustrating the interior, Freshmen continues to blend superhero stakes with the chaos of freshman year in a way that feels both fresh and genuinely fun.
