Freddy gets caught up in military recruitment when a soldier mistakes him for someone enlisting at the Army recruiting center. After the confusion is cleared up, Freddy encounters a woman who believes he is a scoutmaster she knows; though he corrects her, she later arrives at a game where Freddy and his friends are playing, and invites him to a masquerade. In a subsequent adventure, Freddy visits a farm owned by a man named Wimpelmeyer, where he encounters Wimpelmeyer's daughter Florabelle and misidentifies a cow as the farm's "character"; the story concludes with Freddy learning the cow is where the farm's milk originates, after which Wimpelmeyer invites Freddy inside and mentions he has something special planned for the two boys.
