Presented by GallenKamp's Shoes, this 1959 Blue Bird Comics gem captures a wonderfully chaotic scene as Freddy — seated in a pink convertible — desperately tries to hang on to a rope attached to a runaway donkey, while a crowd of laughing onlookers erupts in "HA HA HA" all around him. Jon D'Agostino's lively cover art perfectly sets the tone for a story called "Doubled Date," promising the kind of lighthearted teen comedy that made ten cents feel like a real bargain. Medallion portraits along the bottom also tease appearances by Black Fury, Wild Bill Hickok, Timmy the Timid Ghost, Li'l Genius, and the Masked Raider, making this a genuinely packed package of fun.
