When Freddy Finch and his pal Stuff decide to get dates to show up a couple of critical classmates, Freddy confidently picks out two new girls at school for a double date that evening. But after Freddy spends the afternoon doing unexpectedly grueling work at a tree nursery, he discovers that his choice of date might not have been quite as foolproof as he thought. A humorous lesson in jumping to conclusions, wrapped up in a 1959 teen comedy that proves sometimes the hardest part of a date is what comes before it.
